Biography

After twenty five years in the Vancouver Theatre scene, in May 2019, Liesl graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. She studied screenwriting with Sharon McGowan and television with Jennica Harper. Liesl is a scriptwriter, story developer, and facilitator with Wet Ink Collective. Last summer, she story edited films by Martha Ferguson (France, Zimbabwe), Olena Fetisova (Vancouver, Ukraine), and Elissa Vann Struth (Vancouver). With enhancement of the online world due to the pandemic, she was able to mentor sixty writers from Alaska to LA, Nova Scotia to Vancouver Island, and Paris to Nigeria. Liesl is a script writer, story developer and a Jessie award-winning director, focusing mainly on creating new works.
