Biography

Liesl’s first short film “Does Anybody Hear?” is on the festival circuit, her first comedy pilot “Bike Shop” is a Quarter-Finalist for the GEMFest International Screenwriting Competition, and premiering in 2026, you can see the television series she co-created, “I’m Also Here” (Firecracker Dept and C’mon Mort Productions) on Bell Fibe TV1. She is a co-founder of the Comedy Film Igniter at Canadian Film Fest, The Writers Lab Canada Script Intensive with the NYC founders, and the Firecracker Film Fest at GEMFest in Vancouver. Liesl facilitates Scriptwriting Workshops, provides Story Editing Services, and hosts a free Writer’s Accountability Room. She is a script writer, story developer and a Jessie award-winning director, focusing mainly on creating new works. Liesl graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
